Anyone know what had happen to CSSVault website? I posted about my web design inspiration a few days ago and I received a comment from Dybcio, he told me that the site redirect to the Apple Gazette page. I double checked and what he was saying is right. CSSVault, used to be the web designer’s bets web gallery and inspiration. Now, become an Apple Gazette page, do anyone of you know what had just happen to them? It is kind of disappointed if the site has went down just like that.

I like to surf around the net to get inspiration before I start my first draft in doing web design. So, I did find some quality sites or resources. Inspiration, not meaning that you can totally copy the style you like. You may learn the concept, structure or even color usage from the pro. For resources sites, I also stick with those I bookmarked. Not so much but just a few that I think it is up to level and update frequently. Quite a long time I do not write a post here. Recently, I am busy in preparing some stuffs which is related to web design, hmm.. I think blog design is more suitable. Do you have ever think of this? What do you think about web design? You can find the articles related to “how to” do web design everywhere by mentioning as “top tips” or else. However, I did read it and find it useful. I recommend them to those who are willing to step into this field or those who can’t get himself on the hot list for quite a long time. Here, I will giving some tips from my point of view and also some will be taken from other experienced web designers. I am not saying that I am so pro in this field and want to act here but just wish to share my opinion and tips.

Another big site had been launched after the great success of PSDtuts by Collis Ta’eed. This time, they go for website building tutorials/resources - Nettuts.com. This is a site that you MUST bookmark. Now, it is only a soft launch and the site will be updated slowly with 1 or 2 tutorials a week. Somehow, I think they will pick up the speed while people submitting their tutorials. So, if you are a web designer or web developer. You may not want to miss any of their tutorials or topics there.

Recently, I can’t stop myself from browsing her youtube video. She is Marie Digby. I know her because we are going to sponsor her for an event soon. She is coming to Malaysia next month! Don’t talk about this. After I know her name, I browse over youtube and holy shit! Her songs are damn nice! i can’t stop myself from listening it. After I posted up the 5 useful CSS Tricks. I received some comments on how to explain what CSS is ? Or maybe how to define CSS? All the comments come after the first comment from Amei who asked “Does CSS code=HTML code?” Then I read some different descriptions after i explain mine. There are a lots of CSS hardcore coder out there and also web designers. I think each of them have their different point of view for CSS, XHTML or maybe Javascript and PHP. It will be fun when we compare it with pur daily life.

Recently, I had a gathering with my University’s friends. We graduated for about 2 years and also work for about 2 years for sure. We ask how are you and also tell each other what we are doing now. They all not my course mates actually but all from other courses like banking and finance. However, they all work in bank, so, I consider myself is in the bankers meeting that day … However, what I want to share is when they ask what I am working on now. I just don’t know how to answer … Web Designer? Graphic Designer? or simply Designer?

This is a horrible week for me … totally not in mood to work and creating stuffs. Well, I think it must be a reason why people call me the moody guy. Now, I understand why designer shouldn’t work together. If have to do so, then must handle different projects. Otherwise, they can’t produce perfect works (at least in their mind). Every designer have their passion to have their very own style and design in certain task. They don’t like other people (especially other designers) to modify their works.

Recently I am addicted to those animation in flash design so I search for some flash animation in Google. i like to watch animation in flash and series will be nice as it will have the noncontinuous story that you can follow. It is slightly different from anime that you watch currently. Sometimes you really can see the passion of the animator when you watch their product. The details, idea and creativity are spectacular. It is always nice and enjoyable to watch this kind of stuffs and it sometimes can inspired us and come out with something new.

first of all, where I found this book? As you know, I am a self taught web designer, I always looking for quality resources site to find some idea or learn something new. I found this site one day and it keep appearing in my mind after I read their tutorials and also attracted by the web layout. I know that I found something I am looking for all the while - PSDTUTS. The first tutorials I read is the amazing Advance Glow Effect, can you believe it? There are 450 comments so far… and you can also count the number of trackbacks there..if you have time. The tutorial is simple but come out with stunning effects. From here, you can know how well is the author with handling his designing tools and knowledge. I learn a lot from here not more on tutorials but the way they run the web site and also how to create a quality website. This is even more important to us to maintain our blog content as a blogger.

Christmas is coming soon and my supervisor ask me to change the header for our company website to greet everyone. I started my draft and think. I always like white Christmas. So, no doubt. My design will go for white and blue. When I nearly finish the design. She came over and said that the design can’t be used because she don’t want it to be special for Christmas as we are in Malaysia. A season greeting will be enough. Then, I was thinking. Season Greeting. What should I put in for that? What kind of theme I need to use. According from her description, she what something like party, celebrating, some gifts, some ribbon and you know what appear in my mind? Haha … A lucky draw contest! A Perodua Kancil at the center and many gift boxes around. Haha…a big title above with shiny effects and blink blink like that…

First of all, I would like to say thank you to Webmaster Malaysia, Lim CS & Exabytes for organizing the WebMaster Gathering for the first time in KL.The gathering was held at Starbucks cafe in KL Sentral. There were forum members, bloggers & software developers who attended the gathering. The presentation section from Hanson Toh (Google Malaysia), Najib (Drupal) and Gobala were the key attraction of the event. Well, you may think that this is a late post for the event but I am not going to talk more about the event. I would like to share what I learn from there. Hope this won’t make you feel boring when I say ‘learn’…
